Introduction

WordTheme is a free flashcard app on Android and iOS that allows you to import your own list of words. You can use it to load the iFixit Technical Glossary onto your phone so you can quickly look up technical terms while translating. This guide walks you through the steps of importing one of our glossary files into WordTheme.

This guide is for iPhone only, but we also have a guide for Android.

1. Step 1 Downloading the glossary file
  Go to this section of the translator guidelines and click on the xlsx-files link.
  
  Tap on the glossary you want to download.
  
  Tap on the download icon.
  
  Confirm to download the glossary file.

2. Step 2 Importing the glossary file
  Open WordTheme.
  
  Tap on "Import file"...
  
  ... and then on "Select a file".

4. Step 3
  Tap on the glossary file.
  
  Tap on "Import".
  
  The app will now import the data from the file.

5. Step 4 Renaming your dictionary
  To change the name of the glossary, tap on "Modify a Dictionary".
  
  Tap on the pencil icon, on the left of the dictionary.
  
  Type the new name.
  
  Tap on "Update".

6. Step 5
  Congratulations, you now have successfully uploaded the iFixit Technical Glossary onto your iPhone!
  
  If you tap on it, and then on "My Theme", the dictionary will open and show all the entries in alphabetical order.

7. Step 6 Searching for a term
  If you want to search for a certain term, go back to the main menu, tap on "Search".
  
  Enter a search term. All entries containing the term will now be displayed.
  
  The search function works in the target and the source language.
