Importing the iFixit Technical Glossary into "WordTheme" (iOS)

Introduction

WordTheme is a free flashcard app on Android and iOS that allows you to import your own list of words. You can use it to load the iFixit Technical Glossary onto your phone so you can quickly look up technical terms while translating. This guide walks you through the steps of importing one of our glossary files into WordTheme.

This guide is for iPhone only, but we also have a guide for Android.

You can download WordTheme for iOS here from the Apple Store.

  1.     • Open WordTheme.

    • Tap on "Import file"...

    • ... and then on "Select a file".

    • Tap on the glossary file.

    • Tap on "Import".

    • The app will now import the data from the file.

    • To change the name of the glossary, tap on "Modify a Dictionary".

    • Tap on the pencil icon, on the left of the dictionary.

    • Type the new name.

    • Tap on "Update".

    • Congratulations, you now have successfully uploaded the iFixit Technical Glossary onto your iPhone!

    • If you tap on it, and then on "My Theme", the dictionary will open and show all the entries in alphabetical order.

  7.     • If you want to search for a certain term, go back to the main menu, tap on "Search".

    • Enter a search term. All entries containing the term will now be displayed.

    • The search function works in the target and the source language.
